Developing on the blockchain in C#
Tue 19 Dec 2017 Brunel, Eindhoven
Many consider blockchains to be the biggest IT-revolution since the rise of the internet. Classic financial transactions can be made safer, faster and more transparent through the use of this new ecosystem. The topic of this presentation is how we, as developers, can create innovative applications that build upon this architecture.
We’ll first take a look at the concepts of the blockchain and discuss the problems that it is trying to solve. If we are to understand it properly, we also need to discuss the various pieces of the puzzle like hashing, public/private key infrastructure, nodes and mining. We’ll do actual coding in C# with these pieces in mind because there’s no better way to understand something than by seeing it in action.
Finally, we’ll discuss relevant use cases, and contrary to what many believe, they are not always about moving financial assets. Nonetheless, there’s still something to gain of course.
